Faculty may request journal articles not held at James White Library, and books not available through MeLCat, from another library using the Interlibrary loan (ILL) service. To request such items, complete and submit the Interlibrary Loan Request Form.
The request goes by email to the Resource Sharing Office where it is processed. Journal articles are filled electronically and are emailed directly to you. Books and other materials are shipped to the library. You will be notified by email when the material you have requested has been delivered and is ready for pick up at the Circulation desk. If you have questions about Interlibrary Loan, email ill@andrews.edu.
Reserve books, periodicals, and photocopies in which readings have been assigned for specific courses by the class instructor are available at the circulation desk, which is located in the main entry of the James White Library. Instructors will designate circulation periods of one, two, three, or four hours; one or two days; or one week. This reserve collection is the responsibility of the Patron Services Department.
Reserves are also handled in the two branch libraries: the Architecture Resource Center and the Music Materials Center.
Reserve lists may be checked by clicking on this link: Course Reserve. Information may be retrieved by professor or course name.
The faculty may designate a student assistant from their department or a secretary to borrow library materials on their behalf, and also request items for them via MeLCat and Interlibrary loan service. If you want to use the services of a proxy, download the Proxy Agreement Form, and return the filled and signed form to circulation@andrews.edu.
